Hi everyone,

The standard translations of the Assigned Resource standard fields do not work for our use case. I'm trying to find where to change those, but I can't seem to find it. I would expect this to be in the "Rename tabs and labels section", but the Assigned Resource object is not in the list.

Can someone point me in the right direction?

Hey Katrien, this definitely feels like a gap to me and I would recommend raising a case with Salesforce.  Although it doesn't have a Tab, Work Order Line Items are available in the rename tabs and labels section and is also on the detail side of the Master Detail Relationship with Work Order similar to how Assigned Resource is on the Detail side of the Master Detail to Service Appointment.

I am have users using the field service mobile app and they are having issues with not seeing  all of their appointments. I checked to make sure the missing appointments have the assigned resource and that there is a schedule start date.  I had the user make sure they selected the correct date on the calendar in the app, but no appointments show u for that day, but I can see them in the console.

I also see this error a lot  

Overlapping Services - Service Appointment overlaps with the following Service Appointments 

Working Hours - Service Appointment is scheduled outside of the resource working hours

I have 3 Questions

1. How to schedule an appointment based on Customer time zone, if Territory and Customer are in different time zones.

2. How the actual travel time is calculated for an appointment?

(I could see Actual Travel Time field in Assigned Resource- Is this field capture the time manually? )

3. What's the use resource absence icon in GANTT?

1. When using the standard book appointment / get candidates action, the time zone reflected is going to be the Time Zone of the Territory assigned to that Service Appointment, as that is assumed to be the Customer Time Zone. Can you provide a few more details here as to the use case and expected outcome?

2. Actual Travel Time is not calculated or captured automatically. You would need your own logic to fill in those values based on something like status updates of en route to say onsite. Time Stamps for each one of those could be captured through field history tracking, then automation could be used to calculate the time between that values, and update the Actual Travel Time Field.

3. Not sure I understand the question as there is no standard Field on the Resource Absence Object to insert a Custom Icon. Are you just referring to the Coffee Cup icon vs what shows with a Non-Availability?

I'm trying to assign multiple resources to a service appointment. Is there a way while assigning the resource to particular service appointment we can show if the technician is available or not based on Service appointment schedule start and end date because as per Gantt chart/console, we can only display Service Appointments for the first Service Resourced assigned to it as per limitation. Do we have any workaround for it?

Any help will be appreciated? Thanks in advance!

, what are you trying to accomplish? Though you can add additional Assigned Resource records to a Service Appointment, the scenario isn't supported by scheduling, unless you're using Service Crews. Alternatively, if you need 2 technicians assigned to the same work, you could use complex work - having two service appointments and tying them together via a 'Same Start' dependency however having the same exact data and requirements, and rolling up to the same parent Work Order or WOLI.

Hello folks, 

Is there anyway to stop the Crew Member creation as assigned resources when you add the crew as Assigned Resource to Service appointment.

In our use case, we have a flow action which create child wo, create child Service appointment and copy all the assigned resource to new service appointment but while doing so we receives insufficient cross ref Id error.

I am guessing the FSL code which copies the crew members as assigned resource is written in with sharing and when the technician profile performing above action, we receives error.

Any alternatives available to handle this situation?

I wonder if you have the following issue

'Synced Event's "Assigned To" field is not updated when Service Appointment is re-assigned to another Service Resource'

According to the Known Issue site, it has been fixed.

It looks like the fix is exclusively for only System Admininstratoer profile.

If I login as System Administrator profile, the SA and Event synch works fine, but not for profiles other than System Admin.

Any advise is really appreciated.

Note: FSL version 8.0.13 is installed as reference.

Has anyone seen this error in the Summer '19 release? 

System.DmlException: Insert failed. First exception on row 0; first error: FIELD_CUSTOM_VALIDATION_EXCEPTION, Cannot change status from None to Scheduled: []

We are getting this error in our test class when we insert a record into the Assigned Resource. This is only happening in our Sandboxes that have been updated to Summer '19. If we run the same test in our production org we do not see this error. Did something change that when an Assigned Resource is added to the Service Appointment that it updates the Status? Additionally, our status transition allows an update from None to Scheduled.

Field Service must be enabled.

  • Service appointments on work orders and work order line items offer a more detailed view of the work being performed. While work orders and work order line items let you enter general information about a task, service appointments are where you add the details about scheduling and ownership.
  • Service appointments on assets represent work being performed on the asset.
  • Service appointments on accounts represent work being performed for the account.
  • Service appointments on opportunities represent work that is related to the opportunity.
  • Service appointments on leads represent work that is related to lead—for example, a site visit to pursue a promising lead.
