Top 10 study planner apps

The Chipper app was built specifically with uni students in mind. Plan everything you’ve got going on, from exams to outings, to keep your life and studies on track. Here’s just some of its features:

Its digital planner lets you organise every aspect of your life

Set reminders

It can remind you to complete homework, notify you of exam days and other events you set

If you like making lists then this app is a dream! You can list out each step for your assignments and exams using their Subtasks feature

Set study timers

Its built-in alarm feature means you can set study timers

Motivational tools

Chipper helps you build healthy studying habits thanks to its progress tools.

Get Chipper for free on iOS or Android .

You can probably guess what this app is about purely from the name. It’s a simple app that acts as your to-do list!

The simplicity of it gives it its charm. You may argue you could just use your Notes app to write your to-do list, but the tick box next to each task on Todoist makes things all that more satisfying.

Break each task down into subtasks, add due dates, assign peers to tasks and much more. Much like Chipper, you can also set timers for each task too, which is great for keeping you on track with assignments.

Download Todoist on iOS or Android .

Focus To-Do: Pomodoro & Tasks

Tons of studies show how the Pomodoro technique is fantastic for productivity. If you’ve never heard of it before, the Pomodoro technique is named after the classic tomato timer you have in your kitchen.

It works by setting a timer to 25 minutes and focusing on a single task. When the timer ends, you take a 5 minute break. After four “Pomodoros†(25-minute work-intervals), you take longer breaks in 5 minute increments.

This app is literally based on science, so who can argue with that? Manage your to-do list, time your tasks, set reminders, track what you work on the most and much more!

Why the Pomodoro technique works

It helps those who get distracted easily and lose track of time

Keeps goals and task completion realistic – i.e, stops you biting off more than you can chew

It’s especially useful for those who enjoy gamified task completion

Focus To-Do: Pomodoro & Tasks is available for free on iOS or Android .

Taskheat — Visual To-Do List

Taskheat — Visual To-Do List, wasn’t specifically designed for students. But in terms of how visual it is, it would work fantastic for those who need to organise their tasks in an interesting way.

The app makes use of flow charts and colours to keep things looking neat and organised. It also lets you see which tasks are connected to each other for easy organisation. If you’re bound to forget about deadlines, its handy notification feature will make sure you stay on track too.

Use Apple products? All of your data automatically syncs with iCloud, meaning you can access Taskheat on any Apple device you own.

Everyday – Track Habits & Goals

Yet another app that wasn’t specifically designed for students. Everyday isn’t a planner as such, but more of a habit and goal tracker.

Why would a habit tracker be useful for students? It helps form discipline and visualises your progress with colours you input on each day. Overtime, whether that’s over the week, month or year, you can see how habits and positive changes have been formed.

Simply add all the habits or goals you wish to track, and pop a colour in to indicate whether you worked towards it.

Get Everyday on iOS , Android and Google Chrome .

Think of Trello as a virtual pinboard without the extra weight and stationary. It’s a visual tool that allows you to create lists and cards (your tasks) underneath those lists.

It’s fantastic for team projects, making it a good student planner, but also works as a handy self-organiser for all sorts of things. It’s totally free to use and available on both Apple and Android devices too.

Assign cards to peers, add deadlines, add a cool background to keep you motivated and use coloured labels to categorise your cards. The beauty of Trello is that it’s completely customisable. Make organisational boards about pretty much everything!

Get Trello on iOS or Android .

myHomework Student Planner

Filter your homework by class, due date and colour. It really is that simple – and simple is always good!

How to create a good study plan

Downloading a study planner app, even if it’s the best study planner app out there, it’s kind of useless if you don’t use them in a way that’s productive and beneficial for your studies.

Here are some really simple yet super effective ways to create a study plan that works for you.

Be honest about your study habits (or lack thereof)

There’s no shame in not having had a study plan before. What better time than the present to get started!

If you’ve noticed you burn out easily, or things are going through one ear and out of the other, it might be time to switch up your learning style too.

Look at your current schedule

Do you actually have time to study during the week? Are there any gaps where you can fit in study time? See where you can make room and plan accordingly.

Plan how much study time each class or assignment needs

Some classes, homework, and assignments will take longer than others to complete. If you know you need the extra time, see where you can cut back on other commitments.

Develop a study schedule using one of our recommended study planner apps

We recommend giving them all a go! At the end of the day, one of them may work better for you than the other. So why not give them a download, have a play around and see which one you want to make a concrete schedule with?

Stick to your study plan

This is a given, but once you’ve found something that works for you, make it a point of sticking to it. Not only will this help propel your studies, but you’ll ultimately feel far less stressed out.

Plus, the benefit of study planner apps is most, if not all, have notifications enabled. Meaning you can set notifications for when you need to complete your tasks or study!

Student Success: The Best Planner Apps to Help You Ace Your Classes

Photo of author

Are you looking for the best planner apps to help you get organized and ace your classes? It’s no secret that staying on top of schoolwork can be tough, especially if you’re juggling a handful of classes. That’s why many students now rely on planner apps to keep them up-to-date with their coursework and managing their time efficiently.

I know how overwhelming it is to find the perfect app for planning out your school year because I’ve been there! After trying out a bunch, I’ve compiled a list of my favorite planner apps for college students that make organizing simple and efficient – it doesn’t matter what type of learner you are or whether or not you have a hectic schedule. With this article, I’ll provide an overview of each app so that by the end, you will have gained enough knowledge to choose which one works best for your goals and needs. So let’s get organized!

1. My Study Life

My Study Life is an app designed to make studying and academic life easier for students. It’s a comprehensive planner that allows you to manage your classes, homework, assignments, deadlines, exam schedules and grades all in one place. This means no more scattered notes and calendars all over the place!

One of my favorite things about this app is its flexibility – it can be customized to suit your individual needs. You can color-code subjects, set reminders for upcoming tasks or exams, add notes on lectures or readings – the possibilities are endless! The interface is user-friendly as well: simple yet aesthetically pleasing with easy-to-read text.

The app also has features like offline access which ensures that even if you’re not connected to the internet, you’ll still have access to your timetable and other important information. Another feature I love is the ability to sync across multiple devices so you can seamlessly transition from phone to tablet or laptop without missing a beat.

Overall, My Study Life takes away unnecessary stress by organizing everything in one place which saves time and energy spent trying to keep track of everything manually. With its user-friendly interface combined with its numerous customizations making it a must-have tool for any student looking for organization in their academic career!

Todoist is a productivity app designed to help users manage their tasks and projects efficiently. It allows individuals to create, organize, prioritize, and assign tasks with ease. This app can be used either on mobile devices or desktops which makes it highly accessible for any user who wants to stay organized.

One of the standout features of Todoist is the ability to categorize tasks into different projects and sub-projects making it easier for users to keep track of what needs doing. The color-coding system in this app also helps distinguish priority levels so that users won’t miss out on urgent tasks that require attention immediately. Moreover, Todoist has a robust scheduling tool where one could set deadlines or due dates when each task should be completed.

Another great thing about this app is its collaboration feature which allows multiple people to work together on a project simultaneously. Members can delegate tasks, leave comments or even attach files pertaining to specific assignments providing an efficient way for teams to communicate and collaborate effectively.

In conclusion, whether you’re managing daily personal errands or working as part of a team with various responsibilities – Todoist will undoubtedly come in handy in organizing your workflow more efficiently effortlessly! Its accessibility across multiple platforms along with its excellent categorization system makes it stand out from similarly purposed apps while still being incredibly easy-to-use!

3. Class Timetable

Class Timetable is a mobile application designed to help students organize their schedules. Its features include adding and customizing class schedules, setting reminders for upcoming classes, and tracking assignment due dates. The app has a simple interface which makes it easy to use and navigate.

One of the highlights of Class Timetable is its ability to handle multiple schedules simultaneously. Students can input different class schedules such as lectures, tutorials, labs, and other extracurricular activities like sports practice or club meetings. Users can also customize the color coding of each schedule for better visual organization.

Another feature that sets Class Timetable apart from other scheduling apps is its reminder system. Users can receive notifications before each scheduled event so they won’t miss any important classes or deadlines. The app also allows users to set up custom reminders for specific tasks.

Lastly, Class Timetable’s task management function helps students keep track of their assignments and project deadlines by allowing them to input due dates into the app’s calendar system. This way they can keep on top of all their academic responsibilities in one place.

In conclusion, Class Timetable is an excellent tool for students who want to manage their time more efficiently while staying organized with schoolwork commitments. With its user-friendly interface, multi-schedule handling capability, reminder system and task management functions- this mobile application proves itself invaluable in making sure you never miss another class again!

Trello is an amazing app that helps you streamline your work and personal tasks like never before. It’s a productivity tool that lets you organize your projects, make to-do lists, and collaborate with others in real-time. What sets Trello apart from other task management apps is its intuitive interface, which makes it easy to use even for non-techies.

The app uses a card-based system to categorize and prioritize tasks based on their importance or urgency. Each card can be customized with labels, due dates, attachments and comments – making it easier than ever to stay on top of your workload. Furthermore, Trello allows users to invite colleagues or friends to join a board so they can work together on the same project seamlessly.

One thing I love about this app is how easy it is to set deadlines using the calendar feature. You can quickly view all your upcoming tasks at once and keep track of what needs attention first without having to dig through pages upon pages of notes like traditional planner systems require. Additionally, there are various integrations available such as Dropbox or Slack that allow you further customization for the way you want to manage your workflow.

Overall Trello is an indispensable tool for anyone looking for better organization in their daily life — whether working alone or within a team environment– providing flexibility in managing multiple aspects of one’s life effectively while keeping things simple!

5. Google Keep

Google Keep is a robust note-taking app that offers an array of features to help you stay organized and productive. Its sleek interface makes it easy to create notes, lists, and reminders with just a few taps or clicks.

One of the most impressive aspects of Google Keep is its versatility. You can use it for everything from jotting down quick ideas during brainstorming sessions to creating detailed outlines for long-term projects. The app also supports voice memos and image uploads, allowing you to capture information in multiple formats.

In addition to basic note-taking functionality, Google Keep includes several powerful features that set it apart from other apps in its category. For example, you can use labels and color-coding to categorize your notes by project or priority level. You can also set location-based reminders that trigger when you arrive at specific destinations. Overall, Google Keep is an invaluable tool for anyone who needs help staying on top of their tasks and responsibilities. With its intuitive design and extensive feature set, it’s sure to become your go-to app for all things productivity-related!

Once created, these routines will be displayed in your schedule, helping you balance any commitments you might have. NOTES: Our final feature is a section where students can create class notes. Notes are kept in chronological order and labeled with your choice of color coordination. This helps you keep track of all your necessary information. UniPlan also allows you to add notes for specific classes, which will appear when you click on that course. If you have any problems or suggestions please send an email to [email protected]

Students have a lot on their plates — exams, coursework, tutorials, and projects all clog up their schedules. Then there’s your social life, familial obligations, and work.

How can you manage everything and still have fun?

Here’s the thing: The more organized you are with your time, the less stressed you’ll be. One study about nursing students found that better time management skills  were linked to reduced stress and anxiety.

So, how do you improve your time management? Of course, you could write everything down, but who carries a physical student day planner these days?

That’s where planner apps for students come in.

Today, you have tons of laptop and mobile software to choose from to keep your entire academic, professional, and personal life organized. A planner app allows you to take your student planner online.

Read on to learn some typical features of the best online planners for students and our top picks, including:

  • myHomework Student Planner App

You can conveniently access planner apps from computers and mobile devices, allowing you to customize task details and descriptions from anywhere.

While different apps might have unique features, here are some things the best student planner apps should have:

  • Calendar views
  • Customizable layouts and colors
  • Multiple project views
  • Reminder alerts and notifications
  • Deadlines and due dates
  • Progress and time tracking
  • Tasks and subtasks
  • Recurring tasks

Are student planner apps worth it.

If you mean “worth the price,” the answer is almost always yes. The best student planner apps have completely free versions, so there’s no harm in giving them a try.

Your personal, professional, and academic lives are demanding, so a helping hand in keeping things organized is worth the download.

But some software might feel more overwhelming than helpful. Here are a few important factors to consider when deciding on an online student planner:

The best planner apps for students should include the following:

  • Customizable views
  • Tag and sorting features
  • Notifications and alerts
  • User-friendly interface
  • Progress insights
  • Time tracking

7 Best Student Planner Apps

Perhaps you’re on a tight budget or can only access apps on your laptop. No problem — we’ve compiled the best student planner apps, complete with pricing, OS compatibility, and features.

Let’s dive in!

1. Calendly

Best student planner app—Screenshot of Calendly's website with a peak into the calendar view

Calendly is a global, omni-channel scheduling app for individuals and teams. Over 10 million people use it, including companies like Google and eBay.

Students can connect Calendly with other apps and calendars, such as Google Calendar and Microsoft 365. It’s particularly helpful for students involved in frequent group projects, as they can use Calendly to toggle invitations and availability in one place.

The free version is more than enough for a college student , but you can really pump up automation with the premium paid version.

While Calendly might be one of the best calendar apps for students, it feels more suitable for professional teams and business owners. The downside — you don’t get as many of the task planning features offered on other apps on our list. Entrepreneurs might need Calendly’s easy collaborative scheduling for clients, but some students wouldn’t need that feature.

  • Features:  Routing forms, workflows, team scheduling, availability preferences
  • Best for: Frequent meetings and group work
  • OS: Desktop, Android, and iOS
  • Basic: Free
  • Essentials: $8/month
  • Professional: $12/month
  • Teams: $16/month

Todoist screenshot showing daily list views for events

There’s something so satisfying about crossing things off a list. The online version of that would be Todoist, a to-do list planning app.

Students can organize their calendar events, projects, and homework in multiple visualizations, like calendar view and Kanban boards. We also love how you can prioritize tasks with highlights.

Todoist isn’t just a place to organize lists.  You can track time for study sessions and view productivity insights to improve your study flows. The app has an impressive 8.9/10 rating on TrustRadius with minimal bad reviews.

The only downside we could think of is that the free version might not be able to manage everything on a student’s plate.

  • Features:  Quick task and subtask adds, recurring tasks, prioritization, notifications, tags, filters
  • Best for: Time tracking and task categories
  • OS: Desktop, Android, iOS
  • Starters: Free
  • Pro: $4/month
  • Business: $6/month

3. myHomework Student Planner App

myHomework app website home page

Don’t be fooled by the basic website. Established in 2009, myHomework Student Planner App has a strong reputation among students and teachers. The app has a 4.5/5-star rating on Apple, with almost 4,000 reviews.

The interface is simple and intuitive , with a calendar view for all your homework and tests that you can filter by teacher or theme. Each task comes with an automatic reminder should you need it, so there’s no need to create separate ones for each task.

Some students lament the app’s lack of integration features with Google Calendar and other apps, though most reviews state the app gets the job done.

Another downside is the free version’s ads, which can get annoying.

  • Features:  Homework widgets, project and task tracking, device syncing
  • Best for: Syncing multiple devices
  • OS: Desktop, Windows, iPad, macOS, Android
  • Premium: $4.99/month

4. Power Planner

Power Planner app views

Power Planner has one of the most visually appealing mobile layouts out of all the apps on our list. The intuitive layout, complementary and customizable colors, and convenient agenda view make it easy to stay on top of all your tasks. We think this is the best planner app for students free of charge — the complimentary version has everything you need.

And if you’re a super planner and predictor? This app has a motivating “what if?” feature that shows you the grades you need to get to reach certain GPAs.  You’ll also enjoy automatic reminders, regular updates, and ultimate organization with Power Planner.

P.S. The app has an impressive 4.6/5 average rating on the Google App Store.

  • Features:  “What if” GPA scenarios, calendar and agenda views, automatic reminders
  • Best for:  Predicting grades
  • Premium: $1.99/month

5. Easy Study

Study insights from Easy Study app

Need help finding the motivation to study? Easy Study is a great way to get in the zone.

All you need to do is add your subjects, plan your study time for each one, and boom — the app creates a tailored, customizable plan for you. The most satisfying part is checking off different tasks for each study session.

The daily statistics are also a serious plus. You can view how much time you dedicated to each subject as a percentage-based circular chart and even add overall goals.

One downside we noticed is the frequent customer complaints about bugs. However, it looks like the company does its due diligence with frequent updates.

  • Features:  Notifications, study history insights, subject categories, goals
  • Best for:  Automatic study plans
  • OS:  Android, iOS
  • Basic : Free
  • Plus Monthly : $2.99
  • Plus Semiannually : $14.99
  • Plus Annually : $26.99

6. Evernote

Evernote home page screenshot

Evernote is a fantastic note-taking app. It’s not as popular for scheduling and calendar management, but hey — a large part of college planning happens within your courses, too.

Evernote helps you plan your notes through efficient templates, to-do lists, web clippings, and more.  Unfortunately, many users complain that the free version leaves much to be desired, with limited devices and a lack of reminders or due dates.

The good news? Students can access either a 50% discount on a one-year Personal subscription plan, including due dates, large storage capabilities, extensive search functions, Google Calendar syncs, and more.

If you’re feeling really fancy and collaborative, splurge on the Teams version (or ask a family member to gift it to you).

We think this is the best student planner app for managing multiple aspects of life — categories like professional and personal goals, vacation planning, and even pets complement your academic plans quite nicely.

  • Features:  Reminders, due dates, integrations, note-taking , web clipping, to-do lists
  • Best for:  Managing notes
  • OS:  Windows, macOS, iPhone, Android
  • Evernote Free: $0
  • Evernote Personal: $14.99/month
  • Evernote Professional: $17.99/month
  • Evernote Teams: $24.99/user/month

7. iStudiez Pro

Screenshot of iStudiez Pro home page

iStudiez Pro is a versatile planner app that helps you see homework, exams, assignments, and course schedules in one clear view. Easy, checkable boxes for tasks are categorized by course — the half-picture views let you manage tasks while still seeing your schedule for the day.

Students love the user-friendly interface for most devices, though some complain the iPhone views aren’t as clear as on the iPad.

You can also track grades for every assignment and task , allowing you to easily keep track of your GPA as you go through the semester.

  • Features:  Alarms, syncing, integrations, calendar, grades, bird’s eye schedule views, GPA tracking
  • Best for:  Managing homework tasks
  • OS:  Windows, macOS, iOS, Android
  • Premium: $2.99/month for mobile
  • Desktop versions: $9.99/month

Tips for making the most of student planner apps.

There are a few differences between a regular app and the best student planner app for college students — but the most important isn’t the type  of app. It’s how you use it.

Here are some tips to help you maximize organization and efficiency from student planner apps:

1. Plan Out Your Week

Saturday, Sunday, or Monday are all great days to plan your week. Take some time to plug in all of your week’s courses, classes, tasks, projects, and commitments. This should save you the hassle of adding things ad hoc and forgetting important due dates. You might also consider plugging in grades for different assignments if you’re working with an app that tracks your GPA.

2. Sort, Sort, Sort

Most of the apps on our list have categorization, tagging, and sorting features. Take time to categorize every task to search for related items easily.

3. Customize Your Layout and Colors

Who says planning has to be dull? Have fun with your student planner apps by customizing colors, fonts, and layouts.

Are you strictly a calendar-type organizer? Great, leave the app on the calendar view.

Are you more of a visual organizer? Perhaps a Kanban board is more your style!

Being a student isn’t easy, but modern technology offers a helping hand. We’ve given you a comprehensive list of the best student planner apps on the market. This should provide more opportunities for students to embrace remote learning while providing fantastic support for managing school-life balance.

B. Comprehensive feature set

Upbase is not just a school planner app; it’s a toolkit for academic success that you can easily access from the left-side menu.

i) Schedule

Centralize all your schedules in one place. Easily make plans for the upcoming week, day, and month. That’s what the Schedule page can do for you!

It has four views: Daily Planner, Weekly Planner, Week Calendar, and Monthly Calendar, each integrated with a drag-and-drop feature, making scheduling 2x faster.

And hey, don’t skip these secret weapons if you want to skyrocket productivity:

  • Pomodoro timer.
  • Notepad for taking quick notes.
  • Daily Notes for daily journaling.

Perfect for managing homework, assignments, and group projects. Each list is like a project hub where all information is organized within reach.

For group assignments, you can delegate tasks, add priorities, set deadlines, and attach files. You can also create knowledge bases, organize files, post announcements, communicate with your team, and more.

The cool thing is: you get control of who can access each list .

This is crucial for college students who often work on multiple group projects simultaneously. They can ensure that only the relevant team members have access to a particular list, maintaining privacy and security.

Want to use lists as a solo? Easy-peasy! Just hide the collaborative tools with a few simple clicks.

This tool lets you access Slack-style channels, so you can keep the entire conversation within Upbase.

It also supports direct messages, so you can chat 1-on-1 with anyone on your team.

This feature allows you to categorize, search, and filter tasks in your workspace. You can filter tasks by one or multiple tags – a capability that other planner apps lack.

Take your task management experience to the next level with filters.

The feature lets you create a custom filter of multiple criteria such as lists, assignees, due dates, tags, priorities, etc.

vi) My Tasks

A private place where you can easily keep track of all assigned tasks and tasks you create. You can show tasks on a list or on a Kanban board and choose how to group them.

C. Great customizability

Make Upbase yours. Tailor it to your preferences and style:

  • Personalize list icons and colors for a tailored look.
  • Group similar lists into folders for intuitive navigation.
  • Choose between List and Board views for tasks.
  • Show/hide tools based on your needs for a clutter-free experience.

This study planning app is free to start and offers full access to all the Premium version features.

3. Are student planner apps free?

Many student planner apps are free, although some may limit features in the free versions. Other apps allow the school to purchase the program and provide it to students.

4. How best to use your student planner app

In addition to finding a great planner app, these tips can help you increase your productivity and keep your schedule running smoothly. No matter which app you choose, you’ll get more out of it if you use it alongside smart planning practices.

In order for your studying at the university to be at the same time both pleasant and useful processes, all kinds of organizers with the function of a diary were developed especially for the students. It will gladly come to the aid of any student and allow them to effectively plan not only their educational process but also their free time.

1. Projects

The main wealth of the student is his knowledge. With each course, this wealth becomes more and more diverse and gradually requires systematization. Naturally, it is impossible to keep all the information received in the classroom in the head, so students keep notes. Gradually, the student’s diary (if used) is filled with information, but the records are non-systemic. In order to navigate the abundance of educational materials quickly and easily, the planner offers the section “Projects”, which will allow the sorting of information by any necessary criteria.

Student tasks are varied. They can be divided according to a large number of criteria: discipline, type of action, place of implementation, etc. In order not to get confused in the flow of affairs, it is worthwhile to form your list of context labels and enter it into the Navigator in the organizer. This will allow you to systematize all current and strategic tasks effectively, by tagging them with appropriate tags. As a result, with a single mouse click, you can easily and conveniently navigate the diary between the created marks and select only the necessary actions in the given circumstances.

Organizers usually allow not only to form hierarchical lists of tasks but also to carry out scheduling, which allows you to clearly organize working time and determine the priority of current affairs. Using the “Colors” reference in the planner, a student can visually highlight tasks of a certain degree of urgency and importance by applying colour solutions.

In the process of planning his//her working day, the student regularly assigns certain contextual parameters to tasks, such as belonging to a project or label, marker, or status. This approach allows you to quickly select the necessary tasks using the filtering function built into the app. In addition, the diary provides a “Filters” reference, using which a student can perform complex filtering cases, according to several criteria and save them for future use.

So, busy student life requires clear and detailed planning to achieve good results, and the planners will help to cope with this task as efficiently as possible. The diary program has the flexibility, functionality, and versatility that will allow you to customize its capabilities to suit your needs and requirements, which not only facilitates the planning process for the student but also lead to an increase in the effectiveness of the learning process.

You’d agree that organizing and planning goes a long way. Homework Planner Apps for Students

1. student planner- homework agenda & notes.

The first app on the list is a simple homework and notes management app. It keeps track of homework, assignments, projects, and to-do lists. The layout is minimal, all the tasks are neatly organized with a colored bookmark for easy identification. You can mark a task complete and remove it from the pending list.

Courses can be added easily and color-coded as well. The calendar shows any upcoming deadlines so you can prioritize accordingly. The tasks have a progress bar that you can adjust as you make progress which enables you to get a quick summary without actually opening every task.

You can also break your assignments in small chunks as subtasks that would make finishing a task much easier and the progress bar will fill automatically. It also allows you to attach media files to your assignments or projects for easy access to the important information in one place.

homework planner apps- agenda

  • Progress bar
  • Deadline Reminders
  • Calendar View
  • No option to sync data to the cloud

Student Planner is a great app for all the students, it has all the necessary features like Deadline reminders, subtasks, progress bar, color-coded tasks, and courses. It can significantly increase your productivity when used regularly. You can get this app for free in the Play Store.

Install Student Planner- Homework Agenda ( Android )

2. Student Planner

Student Planner is another fast and simple homework management app which is wrapped by a beautiful and intuitive material designed UI. What Student Planner adds to the table is the inclusion of a schedule or time table which you can use to either store your class schedule or it might even be a study schedule for your exams.

You first start by adding your subject and the schedule then you can add an assignment or set a reminder. The due assignments are arranged as separate cards and can be swiped away once done with.

homework planner apps- Student Planner Android

  •  Simple and easy to get started with
  •  Fast and small in size
  •  Beautiful Minimal UI
  •  Option for Schedule
  • No sync/backup
  • Timetable implementation not perfect

I would recommend this app to anyone who is looking for a simple homework management app with timetable support and a minimal UI.

Install Student Planner ( Android )

Egenda is simple. Open the app, add all the classes or subjects to the app, and once that is set up, you have the option of adding a new Homework, Quiz, Project, or Test and choose the respective subject deadlines. The app also arranges the due work in cards that can be swiped away when done. But what I love the most about this app is that the fact it allows you to go subject-wise and view all your upcoming tests, projects, or pending assignments which is a huge convenience for planning your schedule ahead of time instead of the previous day.

Unfortunately, the app doesn’t have a timetable option, but in its latest update, it added a  Calendar View  where you can see your whole month at a glance with your assignments, tests, and projects.

homework planner apps- Egenda Android

  •  Subject-wise sorting
  •  Calendar View
  • No timetable support

Egenda provides some great tools for Homework and Test planning and I am sure anyone would find them extremely convenient and useful. But keeping its single con in mind, go for this app if you are not too keen on having a schedule or timetable.

Install  Egenda  ( Android  |  iOS )

4. ChalkBoard

The next app on our list is ChalkBoard, which I found out to be a pretty smart homework planner app. Chalkboard strikes a perfect balance between simplicity and features.

Although the setup process is a little longer than the previous three apps, as you have to feed meticulous details about the classes, teacher, and schedule. It is worth the effort.

On the home screen, you are shown upcoming classes, events tab, and upcoming tests. ChalkBoard fetches the dates for every subject from the Timetable for your future classes. Little features like these make the app stand out from the rest and give an overall great experience. You can also view classes and assignments subject wise.

homework planner apps- ChalkBoard Android

  • Proper Timetable
  • Ability to add teachers for subjects
  • View tomorrow’s classes as well as assignments/tests/quizzes
  • Smart features
  • Little longer to set up
  • No calendar view

If you are looking for a homework planner as well as a school planner, Chalkboard is the app as it strikes a great ground with almost all the features one might need while not being too bulky.

Install ChalkBoard ( Android )

5. School Planner

School Planner is a full-fledged planning application designed for students to manage their career as a student. Along with your homework and timetables, School Planner offers you to keep track of your grades and attendance, add contacts for teachers, add recorded lectures, and even multiple planners.

The app supports backing up of all your data via Google Drive, Calendar View along with a weekly report, attaching snapshots to your assignment reminders, student accounts from ClassViva, and a lot more. In spite of so many features, the app doesn’t feel slow at all and delivers a powerful performance with its beautiful design.
