In order to transfer ownership of your service we require consent from both yourself and the person you are transferring ownership to. Give us a call by dialling 611 from your phone or 1-877-946-3184 and we can help you with the details. IMPORTANT: MyTab is not transferrable. It is important to note that MyTab agreements are non-transferable. Prior to initiating the transfer of ownership any existing MyTab needs to be paid off by the current account holder. from https://www.freedommobile.ca/my-account ... 0a00f64c51

A one-time connection fee of up to $45 will apply to each new line or device activation/upgrade. All Freedom Mobile services are subject to our Terms of Service, MyTab Additional Terms of Service , TradeUp Additional Terms of Service , Fair Usage Policy and Privacy Policy .
*Starting July 24 2023, all Freedom Mobile subscribers (excluding prepaid by the year customers, non-monthly rate plan customers, and select applicable plans) that have recurring Freedom Network and/or Nationwide data allotments will have their Freedom Network and/or Nationwide data converted into Freedom Nationwide data. Freedom Nationwide data is defined as data that can be used on both Freedom and Canadian partner networks. Only recurring Freedom data and/or Nationwide data will be converted to Freedom Nationwide data. This excludes Data Passes, Big Binge Bonus Data and Pay Per Use data amounts.
**Starting Jul 24, 2023, subscribers who are on a $39 per month and above rate plan (after Digital Discount where applicable) will have 5G speeds available to them. To access 5G speeds, the subscriber needs to be on a 5G eligible rate plan, needs to have a 5G enabled device with a 5G enabled SIM card and needs to be in a 5G coverage area.
1. MyTab monthly payment required.
Savings based on Regular Selling Price. MyTab monthly payment required for 24 months. Conditions apply. Offer subject to change or cancellation without notice. Taxes, government fees and pay-per-use charges are extra. Early cancellation fees apply. For TradeUp, additional savings are contingent on return of device in eligible condition within month 24.
2. Applicable taxes extra.
3. Digital Discount
Digital Discount promotion is subject to change or cancellation without notice. To be eligible to receive the $5/month Digital Discount, you must (i) be subscribed to a Prepaid or Postpaid line on an eligible plan (in-market plans, except for Prepaid By The Year, Tablet and Watch plans), (ii) sign up for Auto Pay (pre-authorized payments), (iii) have an active and valid Auto Pay method on file, and (iv) redeem the “Digital Discount” promo code at a Freedom Mobile retail location or through your My Account. The promo code can only be applied once to each eligible line. A $5 monthly discount will start to be applied on your next top-up date following promo code redemption (for Prepaid customers), or on your next bill following promo code redemption (for Postpaid customers). Postpaid customers: you must complete the above eligibility requirements on the same day you activate your eligible plan to ensure the discount is received on your first/next bill. If you are not eligible for the promotion during any month, that monthly discount will be entirely forfeited and cannot be made up. If you qualify for the discount in the months following the ineligible month, you will receive the discount in those subsequent months. Movement between eligible plans will not result in the loss of the monthly discount. Your service will no longer be eligible for the discount if you: (a) Change your rate plan to a non-eligible plan, or (b) Port your number away from Freedom Mobile. Applicable taxes extra.
4. Unlimited Plans Data Policy
Freedom Mobile’s unlimited data plans include (depending on your selected plan) from 20GB to 50GB of full-speed data that can be used at 5G speeds on the Freedom network (where available) and at 4G speeds (up to 100 Mbps) on partner networks in Nationwide, the U.S., and Mexico (as applicable, see freedommobile.ca/plans for plan details). See freedommobile.ca/coverage for more information on Freedom’s coverage area. Once your full-speed allotment is depleted, you will continue to have access to data services, with no data overage fees, but at a slower speed – of up to 256 kilobits per second (for downloads) and 128 kilobits per second (for uploads) on the Freedom Network, and up to 128 kilobits per second (for downloads) and 64 kilobits per second (for uploads) on partner networks in Nationwide, the U.S., and Mexico (as applicable) – until the end of your current billing cycle. Applications such as web browsing, email, instant messaging, voice over IP services, or low-quality audio streaming will continue to work, but at a slower speed. Applications that normally require greater bandwidth, such as video streaming or peer-to-peer file sharing will also continue to work, but the slower speed may affect application performance. We will send you a text message notifying you when you have used 70% and 100% of the full-speed allotment included in your plan, at which point you may choose to purchase a data add-on to add more full-speed data to your plan. In all cases, usage is subject to the Freedom Mobile Terms of Service and Fair Usage Policy.

Each promo code can only be used once and applies to one line only - not the full account. The promotion may not be combined with any other recurring discount promotions, except for Digital Discount. The credits will be applied as long as your account is active and as long as you continue to be eligible. Your service will no longer be eligible for the promotion if you: a) downgrade your phone rate plan to a non-eligible plan; b) return either the Eligible Samsung Phone or Samsung Galaxy Tab A7 Lite tablet, or c) port either number away from Freedom Mobile. Rogers Communications says it will sell Freedom Mobile to Quebecor for $2.85B
Rogers attempting to allay competition concerns as it seeks takeover of shaw communications.

Social Sharing
Rogers Communications Inc. will sell Freedom Mobile Inc. to Quebecor Inc. for $2.85 billion in a deal it hopes will appease federal regulators opposed to its proposed takeover of Shaw Communications Inc.
The deal comes after the antitrust regulator reiterated that it opposed Rogers' plan to purchase Shaw, and is subject to approval by Canada's competition watchdog and the federal department of Innovation, Science and Economic Development, the firms said.
It covers all of Freedom's branded wireless and internet customers, infrastructure, spectrum and retail sites, they added in a statement.
Toronto-based Rogers made a $26-billion bid for Calgary-based Shaw and also offered to sell Shaw's Freedom mobile unit to allay competition concerns as part of the deal.
Deal provides 'viable and sustainable' competition, companies say
The Competition Bureau had said the sale would weaken Freedom's operations, reducing "competitive discipline" among national carriers and lead to a transfer of wealth from low- and middle-income groups to the wealthy Rogers and Shaw families.
Rogers, Shaw and Quebecor argued their agreement would effectively address those concerns and keep alive a "strong and sustainable" fourth wireless carrier in Canada, because the deal would expand Quebecor's wireless operations nationally.
"The parties strongly believe the agreement effectively addresses the concerns ... regarding viable and sustainable wireless competition in Canada," the companies said in the statement, referring to the reservations of the competition watchdog and the industry minister.

The companies will also provide transport services and roaming services to Quebecor as part of the deal.
"We look forward to securing the outstanding regulatory approvals for our merger with Shaw so that we can deliver significant long-term benefits to Canadian consumers, businesses and the economy," said Rogers' chief executive, Tony Staffieri.
Quebecor beat out several other parties to reach the deal. Globalive Capital signed a network- and spectrum-sharing agreement with Telus Corp. in May to boost its bid to purchase Freedom. Formerly known as Wind Mobile, Freedom was founded by Globalive founder and chairman Anthony Lacavera in 2008.
Lacavera said in a statement Saturday that Globalive had offered $900 million more than Quebecor did to buy Freedom. He said its bid was rejected because Globalive is "a real independent and pureplay national long-term competitor."
"Rogers is afraid to compete. They have shopped this deal to a succession of billionaire friendlies and friendly parties who won't compete with them [and] are willing to sell Freedom back to them at any time," Lacavera added.
Canadian law allows approval of mergers that harm competition if the companies can prove the mergers bring efficiency to the economy.
The Rogers-Shaw transaction announced in March 2021 already has approval from the shareholders of Shaw and the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission. However, it remains subject to review by the Competition Bureau and the Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development.

The Competition Bureau expanded its opposition to Rogers' proposed takeover of Shaw in new submissions made to the Competition Tribunal on Friday.
In legal filings released after markets closed, the agency challenged Rogers' claims about efficiencies and said acquiring its closest rival is anti-competitive and would harm consumers through higher prices, lower-quality services and lost innovation.
It also argued the proposed sale of Shaw's Freedom Mobile is "not an effective remedy," because it won't replace the growing competition Shaw Mobile would deliver in Alberta and British Columbia and would make Freedom "a subsequently weaker competitor" than it would have been.

Freedom Mobile Has New Ownership & Here's What That Means For Your Internet Plans
Good news for anyone who likes cheap mobile plans!

A Freedom Mobile store in Ottawa.
Canada is known to have one of the most expensive internet services in the world. However, thanks to a recent acquisition, there may be some good news for Canadians.
On April 3, Freedom Mobile was officially acquired by Videotron Ltd., a subsidiary of Quebecor Inc.
If you’re wondering what this all means, it’s that Freedom Mobile is now officially owned by Quebecor.
"A fourth major wireless carrier is launched in Canada," the press statement read.
It also added that this "fourth, strong, competitive wireless service provider" is what “Canadian consumers and governmental and regulatory authorities have been waiting for.”
And there are serious odds that this new acquisition could offer some big perks for Freedom Mobile users.
In order to go through with the acquisition, Pierre Karl Péladeau, president and CEO of Quebecor, committed to ensure that, over a period of ten years, Freedom Mobile plans would be 20% more affordable than equivalent plans by Rogers, Bell and Telus!
This expectation is based on prices in British Columbia, Alberta and Ontario markets, as of February 10 of this year.
If Quebecor fails to follow with its commitment, the company could be subject to damages of up to $200 million.
But that’s not all either.
It also states that Freedom Mobile commits to maintaining prices for existing customers for five years, and even giving them a 10% increase in their local data limit at no extra cost.
Finally, it promises to invest more than $150 million to update Freedom Mobile’s infrastructure, which will enable 90% of its current and future customers to access a 5G technology network with a compatible device within two years.
All of which is good news for anyone looking for ways to save money on their internet plans.
What’s more, the hope is that this deal should drive down internet prices across Canada as a whole.
In a statement , Minister of Innovation, Science and Industry François-Philippe Champagne weighed in on how this might affect Canadians.
"The evidence is clear: Having a strong fourth competitor does lead to lower prices, as we’ve seen in Atlantic provinces, Quebec, Ontario, Alberta and British Columbia," he said.
He added that this transfer will "ensure that this new national fourth player will be in it for the long haul, be able to go toe-to-toe with the big three, and actually drive down prices across Canada."
All of which sounds pretty promising. Here's hoping for more reasonably priced wireless plans in the near future!

No, freedom recently stopped allowing transfer of ownership requests that had F&F 35% codes applied to the account. I tried to do a transfer on the weekend and told it was a very new policy not to transfer discounted lines. You are allowed to transfer ownership of the line, but you will lose the F&F discount in the process. howitzer19 • 5 yr ...

You can get a manual credit check & if approved you can definitely do a transfer of responsibility . The 10 Gb is a completely new promotion at the moment so best thing would be to ask the customer care to see if it is transferable. IMO consider if it isn't transferable get the line transferred and then just ask them to add it again for you.
You need to do that in a corporate freedom mobile store. You need to go with your mother and bring all relevant accepted forms of identification. Can ask via the online chat thing on freedom mobile's social media pages (direct message in Twitter, private message via their Facebook page) Edited to include the last part I forgot.

0. I think $20 is a reasonable fee to perform a transfer of responsibility. It takes around 15 minutes, involves a credit check, and the person taking over usually wants to perform some changes to the account. There's a labour cost associated with it, which Bell would not be incurring if you weren't performing the transfer.
Quebecor Inc. has agreed with Rogers Communications Inc. and Shaw Communications Inc. to buy Freedom Mobile for an enterprise value of $2.85 billion, the companies said on Friday.
