How to Set a Video as Call Ringtone on Android Phone
Times have changed. Cellular phones have evolved into smartphones, can do a hell lot of things just like a computer, but one thing that’s stayed the same over the years is how an individual gets notified when he receives an incoming call. In the 90s, it was a ringtone and today, it’s the same – a ringtone. Only the sound of it can be made better these days but it’s still… just.. sound.
Well, if you have an Android device, today we will try break this legacy and do something different. How about applying a video tone? Yes, the incoming call will prompt a video to start playing. Sounds interesting? Lets see how we can get this done using the free app called Video Ringtone Maker (no rooting needed).
Let’s Get Started With Setting Up a Video as Ringtone on Android
Step 1: Download and install Video Ringtone Maker from Google Play. The application is compatible with devices running on Android version 2.2 and above. When you launch the application for the first time you will have to provide your name, email, age and favorite artist.
Step 2: On the app, click on the Videos button at the bottom of the screen to set a video tone. Once you click on the Video button, you will see a change in the options in the bottom bar.
Step 3: If you don’t have your favorite video on your SD card, click on the Downloads button to search for your favorite video and download it. All the videos are free to download and as the application uses multiple search engines to search, I am sure you will not be disappointed.
If you have the video on your hard disk, you can transfer it to your SD card via data cable or WiFi .
Step 4: Once you have your video in the SD card, click on the Incoming Video button and then select your desired video from the list of videos that are available on your phone. After you click the OK button, the video will be played for you. Scan the progress bar to the point from where you want to start the video and then press the save button.
Step 5: Now navigate to the home screen and click on the On/Off button (Refer to the screenshot after Step 2). When the icon is blue, the video tone mode is enabled and vice versa. Once you have enabled the application just wait for an incoming call to see your video tone in action.
If you like to have more than one videos as your incoming video tone you may shuffle them. While setting the video tone on the app, click on the shuffle button to select all the videos you want to shuffle between. Once you are done click on the OK button.
Furthermore, you may make your personal video using the Make Your Own mode. Choose a video and a soundtrack, give the video a name and that’s all. You can then use your custom video as a video tone.
What are you waiting for, download the application and set your favorite video as your incoming caller video tone.
And, don’t forget to share with us which video you’re planning to play first.

Smartphones have come a long way, and they won’t stop evolving any time soon. Since their features and are becoming more impressive and complicated every year, it can be hard to keep track of exactly what your smartphone can allow you to do.
Consider the good old ringtone. Did you know you can upgrade it into something more interesting that will make your phone look cooler?
When someone calls you, your device plays a video instead of just a sound. Setting this up is simple. The methods we’ve chosen in this article are aimed at Android users.
Best Android Applications for Video Ringtones
These days, you can find an application for literally anything, video ringtones included. However, it is important that you know how to choose the correct application for your mobile phone right away.
When it comes to personalizing your phone, there are many unsatisfactory apps out there, and downloading them is more trouble than it’s worth. Before we show you what apps you can use for setting video ringtones, let’s check some rules that will save you time and keep your smartphone safe.
How to Download Apps or Files on Your Android Phone Safely?
In order to prevent your personal information from being stolen, make sure to do the following:
Download and Install Antivirus software for mobile phones
Just like computers, mobile phones can be infected with malware. Depending on the type of malware, your data can be stolen or deleted. You can try AVG AntiVirus, Avast, etc. They are free on the Google Play store, though some of their features are locked and require payment.
Block Third Party Downloads
The safest place to download your applications is the Google Play Store. Downloading something from an “unproven” website is considered a third party download, and it can potentially compromise your phone’s data, as malware is usually disguised as a regular app.
With that said, you need to avoid unsafe downloads and only use trusted sources. Android phones have an option that can block third-party downloads if you accidentally click on downloadable links. This option is usually toggled on, but you should check and toggle it yourself if it isn’t.
Simply open your phone’s settings and tap on the Applications. You should be able to find something like “Block unknown sources” (it isn’t the same on every Android phone) and fill the checkbox next to it.
To make sure that you find the right app, you should:
- Read the comments on the Google Play Store
- Check the app’s ratings
- Read its features
- Check its manufacturer

We have options aplenty for Android sounds these days, and once you get the hang of these tools, the world is your ringtone. Whether you need to find that sweet new sound or just need to know how to add a custom ringtone to your phone in Android 13 , we have you covered!
Let awesome ring.
If you already have a cool, custom ringtone you just need to add to your phone, then your job is very easy. All you need to do is head to your Android phone 's Settings menu and select the audio file to set it as your custom ringtone.
1. Open Settings on your Android phone.
2. Tap Sounds & vibration .
3. Select Phone ringtone .
4. Tap My Sounds .

6. Choose an audio file from your phone's internal storage.
7. Select your newly added custom ringtone.
8. Hit Save in the upper-right corner of the screen.
On some phones, the Settings app will see the new ringtones immediately, but if yours doesn't, reboot the phone. Upon reboot, the new ringtones should appear in the list of available ringtones in the Sound & vibration menu.
You didn't settle for a default ringtone, so why would you settle for a default notification tone? If you already have a text tone you like — I have about ten I'll cycle through myself — you can manually select it. The process should seem familiar by now since it is almost exactly the same as customizing your phone's ringtone.
3. Scroll down to select Default notification sound .
5. Press the plus button in the lower-right corner to add your own notification tone.
7. Select your newly added custom notification tone.
If your custom notification sound has been properly set, you will see its name underneath the Default notification sound option.
How to apply a custom ringtone to a contact
By giving each of your most-used contacts a unique ringtone, you can tell who is calling without having to scramble across the room and grab your phone off the charger. This is useful at all times, but especially during work hours, when answering personal calls can earn you a reprimand, but missing a client call could slow down your progress.
1. Open the Contacts app on your Android phone.
2. Select a contact.
3. Tap the three vertical dots in the upper-right corner.
4. Tap Set a ringtone .
5. Choose one of the presets or add your own custom ringtone.
6. To add your custom ringtone, tap My Sounds .
7. Press the plus button to choose a local audio file.
8. Select a custom ringtone and press Save .
How to find and set ringtones through the Zedge app
There are a lot of places to find ringtones, but far and away, the easiest is Zedge. Zedge is a customization app that looks to personalize your phone in a number of ways, most notably with its ringtone and wallpaper galleries.
Zedge even streamlines the process, letting you download and set your ringtone from the same screen! I will admit the ads on Zedge have gotten a bit much over the years, but if you like to change your ringtone every few weeks, you can shell out for the ad-free upgrade.
Browsing the Android app is a simple affair; you can browse by category or search for something specific. Once you find a ringtone in the app you like, here's how to set it:
1. Open the Zedge app on your Android phone. If you don't have it on your phone, install it from the Google Play Store first.
2. Select the Ringtones option from the side menu.
3. Choose a ringtone that you like.
4. Tap the download button on the ringtone's listing.
5. Select SET RINGTONE , SET NOTIFICATION , or SET CONTACT RINGTONE depending on what you want to do.
6. Give Zedge permission to modify system settings.
7. Select your option once more.
You'll see a toast notification at the bottom of the screen telling you the ringtone has been applied. If you wish to set a ringtone to a specific contact, as your notification tone, or even as your alarm ringtone, you can select those options from the same menu.
To confirm that your phone's ringtone has indeed been changed, you can check the Phone ringtone under the Sounds & vibration menu.

Your turn to give your ringer some zing
What awesome custom ringtones are you adding to your Android phone? I'm partial to Disney fireworks music, but Star Wars blaster and lightsaber sounds are pretty fun, too. Once you've customized your phone's sounds, don't stop there. Stay on track and customize your wallpaper and icons as well.
Personalize your device with the help of a great Android launcher . You can choose a theme and match your phone's notification sounds and ringtones to the wallpaper and app icons. There are some really cool icon packs available for Android phones, including one that lets you create custom icons .
ZEDGE Wallpapers & Ringtones
Pick a theme and go all out with this awesome Android app for your phone. You don't need to go hunting for audio files when you have Zedge, because it has a vast library of ringtones and notification tones for you to choose.

This article explains how to set your ringtone on a variety of Android phones as well as how to download new ringtones and transfer them to your phone. The instructions below apply no matter who made your Android phone: Samsung, Google, Huawei, Xiaomi, etc.
How to Set Default Ringtones
Depending on the model of Android phone you have, you can choose from several stock ringtones. Here's how to find and browse through them:
Open your phone's Settings app.
Tap on Sound .
The sound settings contain all sorts of options to adjust the different volume levels and tones on your device. These vary slightly based on your device and the version of Android that it's running, but they should all be fairly similar. Find the Phone Ringtone option and select it.
Depending on which version of Android you're using, the Phone Ringtone option might be under the Advanced section. If so, tap on the down arrow to open it up.
From here, you see a list of ringtones or a list of ringtone categories available on your device. You can tap a ringtone once to hear what it sounds like. When you find one you want to use as your default ringer, tap OK or Save to save the selection.
How to Set Default Ringtones on Samsung Phones
If you own a Samsung device, the process for setting a ringtone is a little different. Here's how to do it:
Launch the Settings app, then tap Sounds and vibration .
Find Ringtone in the list and tap it.
Choose the ringtone you want to set for your phone.
Finally, tap the back arrow at the bottom of your screen to set your new ringtone. You can tap the Home button to dismiss the Settings app.
How to Download New Ringtones From Your Computer
The simplest and least expensive way to get new ringtones is to transfer them over from your computer. Most Android devices can use regular music files as ringtones.
While plenty of devices accept other formats, sticking to MP3 and OGG is generally a good idea.
Connect your Android device to your computer via a USB cable. Usually, you can use the cable that's part of your charger.
On your Android device, swipe down from the top of the screen to see your notifications. You should see a system notification stating that your device is connected via USB for charging. Tap that notification.
A new dialog box opens up and allows you to choose what the USB is used for. Choose File transfer . Your computer might automatically open a window showing the phone's storage. If it does, skip to Step 6.
If your computer doesn't automatically navigate to the phone's storage, open Windows Explorer or whichever file browser is available on your system.
Navigate to where your device is mounted. This is the same location your PC displays connected USB drives. On Windows, it's This PC .
In your Android device's internal storage, find and open the Ringtones folder.
Copy any music files you want to use as ringtones into this folder. When you return to your phone's Sound settings, you should find them listed among the default system ringtones.
Where to Find Ringtones Online
If your phone's default ringtones don't offer the level of customization you want, go to Google Play and do a quick search for ringtones. The search results include many apps—some paid and some free. Here are two free apps worth considering:
ZEDGE Ringtones & Wallpapers
Make your phone a conversation starter with free ringtones when you download the ZEDGE app . It also includes notification sounds, app icons, alarms, and free wallpapers. You can download and use a high-quality ringtone for each member of your family or for each of your friends. Categories include rock, rap, and country, plus classic ringtones and sound effects. Assign the ringtones to individual contacts from within the app.
When you download the RingDroid app , you'll be able to use up to 30 seconds of a song in your media library and create a ringtone from it. It takes a little while to get used to the interface, but once you make a few ringtones, the process is easy and effective.

Of course, you could use other apps that would do the process for you, though those usually cost a premium.
The Pixel’s Sounds app is an easy way to choose and add ringtones and notification sounds to your phone without having to worry about moving files around in the phone’s storage. Simply head into the app and pull from your downloads. From there, that ringtone will be among the other sound options for your phone.
The only way you can reach the app is by heading into settings and finding the Phone ringtone or Default notification sound section.

Find the contact you want to set a ringtone for and hit the three-dot menu in their contact card . From there, tap Set ringtone and select the one you want to use .
Whether you want to run through every contact and set a specific song as your ringtone, the above process is useful to learn. From there, you can set up any number of custom ringtones or songs for your Pixel .

How to Set a Song as a Ringtone on Android
It’s highly likely that you’ve changed your phone’s ringtone at some point. It’s particularly easy on Android devices – just head to Settings – Sound and you’ll find the option (where this is may very depending on manufacturer). There might be 15 or more different generic tones to choose from, but what if you want to customise your own?
Android has added the option the option to add another sound to your library, but it will simply begin playing from the start of the song when you receive a call. Imagine choosing Hotel California by Eagles and only getting the guitar backing from the first minute!
That’s where a free app like Ringtone Maker comes in. Once you grant access to your files, this also allows you to trim the mp3 clip down to the specific section of song you’d like to play when you receive a call. Here’s how it’s done.
How to set a custom ringtone on Android
Once you’ve downloaded Ringtone Maker and opened it, you’ll be presented with a rather dated looking interface.
However, more importantly you should see a list of all the mp3 files you currently have downloaded to your device. Adding a song to that list is relatively easy, as sites like Clip Converter can take the audio from any YouTube video and download it for you.
Tapping on each will play them, so you’ll want to hit the three dots next to your chosen file – we’re using a royalty free track from bensound.com as an example. Various options will appear, but the one you’ll want is Edit.
You’ll then see a waveform timeline of the audio, which will be familiar if you’ve used audio editing software before. Under the options of Trim, Remove middle and Paste you can select the portion of audio you want to use.
If you find your finger isn’t accurate enough, you can also adjust by millisecond increments. Once you are happy with your selection tap the Save icon. You can choose to save the clipped audio as a ringtone, alarm, notification or music.
Hit Ringtone, give it a name, then press Save. Ringtone Maker will offer to make it your default ringtone, or go to Settings then Sound and select it from there.

Here's How to Set Your Own Alarm Sound From a TikTok Video
S ometimes when you're scrolling TikTok , you'll come across an audio that just tickles your brain, whether this be a remix, an original song, or just a funny clip of someone talking. In some instances, you may think to yourself 'This would be a really good sound to wake up to in the mornings.' If this is you, then you're in luck — we can show you just how to do that.
A lot of TikTok users have been taking inspiration from a TikTok audio by @jason.dom that says "Good morning you stunning stack of f--king sunshine. Rise and f--king grind." This audio, which some are calling " BA alarm " (BA for bada-s), is incredibly easy to make your morning alarm. Here's how to make that TikTok sound into a custom ringtone.
How to set a TikTok audio as your alarm on iPhone.
There are a few different ways to download an audio from TikTok, though not all of them are entirely safe. For starters, you can copy the link into a website that allows you to download the audio from TikTok videos, though not all of these websites are safe to download from, so be sure you're using a reputable one before you decide to download.
Another TikTok user offered a different way to download audios if you don't want to trust a random website. To start, download both GarageBand and RingtoneMaker onto your phone; both of these apps are absolutely free. Once you've done that, download the video that has the audio you want to make into a ringtone. If you want to make your "Good morning you stunning stack of f--king sunshine," we've linked the original sound here .
From here, import the video into RingtoneMaker and then click "Make." It'll then prompt you to export it to GarageBand. Once you've made sure the audio still sounds exactly as you want it to, click the audio, rename it to whatever you want it to be called, and then select "Share." Then choose "Ringtone" and it should show up as a new ringtone option on your phone.
If all of this is too complicated for you (we understand if it is), then you can also just look up the audio and purchase it for $1.29 on iTunes. This audio specifically is under "Good Morning You Stunning Stack of F***ing Sunshine" by Joe the Motivator, though we were only able to bring it up on the mobile version of iTunes and not via Mac.
From here, you should be able to change your morning alarm to your new custom ringtone.
How to set a TikTok audio as your alarm on Android.
If you're trying this process on Android, you'll first want to download the TikTok video with the audio you want to use. You'll then want to download a video converter from the Google Play store. Do some research before downloading, though there are plenty of reputable options available for Android devices. Make sure whatever app you use can convert a video to an MP3 file.
Follow the directions in the app you've chosen to upload the video and convert it to an MP3 file. Once you've done that and saved the audio to your device, you should be able to add it to your ringtone options by clicking the "+" button when selecting a ringtone in settings. Upload the audio and you're good to go!
