How to create myUnisa account?

Most students don’t know how to set up a myLife account at UNISA. Before you set up my unisa account, you should have a myUNISA Student portal access. Below are the guidelines that we’ve compiled for you so that you can set up my life UNISA account easily.

  • STEP 1: Navigate to myUnisa student homepage at https://my.unisa.ac.za/portal
  • STEP 2: Click on “Claim Unisa login”
  • STEP 3: Enter your student number and click the “continue” button
  • STEP 4: Type in your personal information including Surname, Full names, Date of Birth, South African Identity Number or Passport Number or Foreign ID (provide the information you used when you initially registered with the institution).
  • STEP 5: Read the guidelines and tick the boxes and click “Acknowledge” or “Back” if you want to go to back to the previous STEP.
  • STEP 6: Both your myUnisa and your myLife e-mail account will appear on the screen. The screen will also show your “initial UNISA password”. Your myLife account can take up to 24 hours to be activated. Once it’s activated, to access your myLife e-mail account, navigate to http://mylife.unisa.ac.za
  • STEP 7: Login to myUnisa by clicking “Click here to login” to your myUnisa account and clicking “myLife email” button to login to your UNISA email account.
  • STEP 8: Open your myLife e-mail account by entering your myLife email address and password. Always remember to logout when you are done using it.

How to Claim UNISA Login

Follow these steps to Claim your Unisa Login:

  • Step 1: Open your web-browser (Google Chrome or Firefox)
  • Step 2: Go to https://www.unisa.ac.za/sites/myunisa/default/Claim-UNISA-Login
  • Step 3: Click on “Claim Unisa login” link
  • Step 4: Enter your student number and click “Continue”
  • Step 5: Enter your personal details (ID number or a passport number, not both) and click on “Continue”
  • Step 6: Please read and acknowledge that you have read each statement. Click “Acknowledge” once done
  • Step 7: Enter your initial UNISA password

Now you have Claimed your Unisa Login.

The initial login details will give you access to three systems:

  • myUnisa – teaching and learning system and the Unisa Library
  • myLife – a web-based email for UNISA students

How to Login myUNISA

To access MyUnisa account in South Africa, you need to follow the below steps:

  • Step 1: Go to MyUnisa login page at https://www.unisa.ac.za/sites/myunisa/
  • Step 2: Enter your username and password
  • Step 3: Click ‘login’

That’s how the MyUnisa Login procedure works with a single login, using your mobile device or computer. After you have performed the above MyUnisa Login process, you can access and download your study material by clicking on ‘on a module tab / link at the top of the screen’ and then click on ‘Official study material’ in the left-hand navigation panel. You will also be able to download UNISA study materials in PDF.

MyLife Email Login UNISA in South Africa

According to UNISA’s official website, due to a recent Microsoft update, UNISA students will no longer be able to directly access their MyLife Email account when logged in to myUnisa .

The MyLife Email account at UNISA is free to open and uses the Microsoft Office 365 platform. Here’s how to login to MyLife Email UNISA account:

  • STEP 1: Go to the MyLife Email Login Page http://mylife.unisa.ac.za
  • STEP 2: Enter your full email address (e.g [email protected] ) and your password for your myLife email account
  • STEP 3: Select ‘Sign in’
What You Need to Know About myUnisa

I Can’t Login to MyLife Email Account

If you are unable to login to your MyLife Email account, it could be your password is not active on myLife or Office 365. Make sure that you reset your myUnisa password to synchronize it with your myLife mailbox. Here’s how to rest your MyLife Email Password.

  • STEP 1: Login to my Unisa and click on ‘My Admin’
  • STEP 2: Click on the ‘Change Password’ link
  • STEP 3: Complete the form to update your password. The new password will be active for both your myUnisa and myLife services

Please note that it may take approximately 30 minutes for the new password to activate on the myLife service during peak periods.

After resetting the password, head back to the MyLife Email login page and login to MyLife email account.

If you are still experiencing problems after resetting your MyLife Email login password, please send an email to [email protected] for assistance.

How to Change MyUnisa Login Password in South Africa

Do you want to change your MyUnisa Login password? You need to go to MyUnisa login my admin login to change your password. Here’s how to change your MyUnisa login password:
