Understand permission set licenses in Financial Services Cloud and how to assign them to users.

Required Editions and User Permissions

Permission set licenses extend the functionality of a Salesforce user license and provide access to features and tools. Some permission set licenses are associated with a permission set, and when you assign the permission set to a user, you automatically assign the permission set license. Other permission set licenses are assigned directly to a user. Users need both the appropriate permission sets and permission set licenses to work in Financial Services Cloud.

The Salesforce platform, which underlies Financial Services Cloud, provides many base permission set licenses. Financial Services Cloud provides additional permission set licenses. The licenses that are available in your org depend on the product solution and add-ons that you purchase.

If you have questions about the permission set licenses in your org, contact your Salesforce account executive.

To see and assign permission set licenses:

  • From Setup, in the Quick Find box, search for and then select Company Information .
  • Select the Permission Set Licenses related list and, if desired, click Go to list to see the complete list.
  • Click any license name to see its details and assign it to users.

Assign Health Cloud Permission Sets and Licenses to Multiple Users

Permission set licenses and permission sets have different purposes. Permission set licenses extend the functionality of a user license, and permission sets extend a user’s functional access without changing a user’s profile. When you assign a permission set, you’re also assigning the associated permission set license.

Before you assign or unassign Health Cloud permission sets and permission set licenses, make sure you meet these requirements:

  • You must have administrator permissions and access to the Company Information panel of your org.
  • You must have Salesforce Data Loader installed so you can obtain users’ internal IDs as well as the internal IDs of the Health Cloud permission sets. For more information, see Data Loader documentation .
  • You need a spreadsheet application that handles CSV files, such as Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets.
  • Bulk-Assign a Health Cloud Permission Set or License To bulk-assign a Health Cloud permission set and permission set license for multiple users, you need the unique ID of the permission set and the unique ID of each user.
  • Bulk-Unassign a Health Cloud Permission Set or License To unassign a permission set and permission set license for multiple users, you'll need the users' internal IDs, the ID of the permission set, and the ID of the permission set license.
