Printable Activities for 2-year-olds
If you’re looking for printable activities for 2-year-olds , I’ve got a great list of resources for you here!
Many moms love to let their toddlers get creative with crafts, cutting, gluing, etc… and the great news is that there are plenty of free printable activities for 2-year-olds available online.
These activities for toddlers build a variety of skills. Any type of activity that you do alongside your toddler is great at helping them learn to communicate with you and express what they want to say. Talk to them about what they are looking at, what they are sorting/cutting/etc., and anything about their activity that will stimulate their brain to learn to respond and communicate with you.
This is such a rewarding time as you engage with your toddler and help him/her learn new things! Don’t worry about the times when you can’t be right next to your 2-year-old during his/her activity. They also need some time alone (supervised from a distance š) to learn how to stay busy and get creative all on their own. Then there’s the middle ground, where you could be cooking in the kitchen and have them next to you doing an activity – ask them what they’re doing and peek at their progress now and then.

Learning Printables For 2 Year Old
Looking for easy learning printables for 2 year old who may be ready for preschool? Iāve compiled easy learning printables for preschooler who you can start to introduce alphabets and numbers. These worksheets for 2 year olds will be perfect to get their little minds learning about alphabets and numbers!
This is actually an exciting time for your kid to start learning fine motor skills such as holding a pencil in their hands or cutting paper with scissors. While they may not know initially how to even hold a pencil, through easy exercises like tracing the lines or cutting paper with scissors, your kid will start getting better and better at holding a pencil and tracing alphabets or numbers.
Babies at this age have pretty short attention span so doing one page a day would be an accomplishment. But they are fast learners and will catch on pretty quickly as you introduce them to the concepts of alphabets and numbers through repetition and doing the same thing again and again.
And these work great as daycare worksheets for 2 year olds who need introduction to writing on paper and being familiar with ABCs and numbers.
So here you go. Learning Printables For 2 Year Old You Can Do At Home!
Worksheets for 2 years old - Alphabet Practice
This is the time when you little toddler can start to know the alphabets and practice recognizing and writing his/her own name. Making alphabets fun is the key here and doing one letter at a time at home is the key. Incorporate fun activities like using goldfish (and eating them afterwards) to help them recognize alphabet is one of the fun ways to introduce letters to your kid!

Their imaginations are flourishing and their language is developing enough that we get to hear what is going on in that growing little head of theirs. More than that, their motor skills are reaching new levels and are able to take on more challenging activities.
Threading/Sewing Activity
This simple threading activity demanded so much focus from Emmy. Not only was the fine motor aspect of it challenging, but following the series of holes and knowing which one to do next was also a big challenge! Talk about a GREAT hand-eye coordination activity!
I made this by simply using a hole punch on a piece of card board that came from a bake at home pizza. I also placed a small amount of tape around the tip of the string in order to make it easier for her to thread.
As with most of our activities, I did sit with Emmy though the first round of “sewing”, as she began to call it. We talked through how you have to push the string through first, then pull it tight. I kept repeating that same verbal series to her…push it trough, then pull it tight” and she began to repeat it back to me. After we completed the circle, she asked to do it again. I unthreaded and left her solo to work through it on her own. She repeated the push-pull phrase until she completed the circle on her own!
Printable Activities
We a HUGE fans of printables. Not only do they keep our toddler entrained and engaged while bringing in educational aspects, but they are a great way to work those fine motor skills and early handwriting skills.
I’ve created a bundle of 12 toddler printable worksheets that have a variety of educational aspects. You can check out all the sheets in the bundle here.
Layered Tape Pull
Layered tape pull is a great activity to challenge your kiddos mind! I made this by layering two colors of masking tape on a table (the glittery tape made this even more enticing for out girl!). This could be done with even more colors or just one color, which would be extra challenging!
After I layered the tape, I explained to Emmy what the goal was… to pull up the top piece of tape. She pulled up a few pieces and realized they were stuck under others. When this happened, I would show her where it was stuck and she slowly started to catch on. I backed away after a few attempts on her own and let her take it from there. We saved each of the pieces of tape and were able to re-use them and do the activity a second time!
Sensory Bins
When it comes to sensory bins with your two year old, there options are pretty endless!
Let’s start with our sensory table. We purchased the IKEA FLISAT this past January and have used it almost daily since then. The table comes with covers that go over the bins so it can double as a flat surfaced table as well. IKEA also has matching chairs for the table as well.
When it comes to what to put in your sensory bins, Pinterest is the best place to find ideas. A few of our favorites have been:
-Bean Scoop (pictured above)
-Straw Threading Station ( See post here )
-Pouring Station
Your best place to find sensory bin activities is PINTEREST! There are so many great ideas for kiddos no matter what their interest are!
Memory Matching Game
This memory matching game is a great way to challenge your two year old mind!
We started this game with only 4 cards (2 matching pairs) face down. I found it easier to do the game myself with Emmy right by me and explain each step I was taking. “Flip over one card, look at the image and remember what it is… it’s a sun. Now place it back down to where you can’t see the picture. Now let’s flip over the next card to see if we can find the second sun…” and so on. Once I found my two matches, I let her do it on her own while I talked through it with her.
We slowly increased to 3 sets of matches and then 4.
I’ll be honest- we play this game ALOT! Emmy really enjoys how challenging it is and is always very proud of herself when she finds a match!
Little note on this activity: I laminated the cards and ended up putting them in Emmy’s restaurant kit and they are the PERFECT activity to take to dinner! It’s fun for us to do together and keeps her super entertained!
You can download the free printable memory matching came here.
I do suggest either printing it on cardstock if you have it. If not, add construction paper to the back of the cards so they are not so transparent.
Moon Sand is an activity that we have repeated about a dozen times in our house! And it also happens to be the most popular activity on Little Learning Club!
Moon Sand has the same effects as kinetic sand in that it sticks together when molded. If your kiddo is past the point of putting everything in their mouth, then the moon sand can be made using flour and baby oil.
If you are looking for a taste safe version, you can make your Moon Sand using flour and coconut oil.
We store our moon sand in a Tupperware container and it has lasted up to a month!
For more details on the recipe details, so our Moon Sand Recipe post.
Bubble Wrap Stomp
Another great activity that came from recycled material! As saved a long strip of bubble wrap from a delivery box and taped it to the floor. We turned on some kids songs on and Emmy danced and stomped her little heart out!
At one point, Emmy did grow pretty interested in the workings of the bubble wrap and ended up laying on her tummy and popping them by hand… which we were totally ok with! This doubled as a fine motor activity once she was working to pop the bubbles with her fingers.
Toilet Paper Threading
Can you tell we are fans of recycling items for activities in our home?
This activity was easy to set up- just a toilet paper roll cut in half and punch holes. This was extra challenging for Emmy because not only did she have to get the straw through the first hole, but she them had to maneuver it to get it through a second hole.
This is another great activity you can save once they complete it and bring it out at a later date.
Play-Doh Impressions
Play-doh Impressions is such a great low-prep activity! I rolled out the play-doh and picked out items that I knew would leave a unique impression. I gathered them in a basket and started the activity by handing them to Emmy one by one. She slowly pressed them all into the pay-doh and would feel the impression with her fingers. Once she had made all the impressions, we went back through and looked at each one on the play-doh and identified them. I would point to an impression and ask her “which on made this?”.
After we did that it turned into her just playing with the play-doh for another half an hour and pressing random objects into it- but it sure kept her occupied!
Animal Puzzles
To create these animal puzzles, I simply printed out the images and cut through them in various patters.
If you want to make this even more challenging for your little one, you could cut the animals into 3 or 4 piece puzzles.
You can download the animal graphics I used here. I would definitely suggest printing on cardstock to keep the paper from curling.
Ballon and String “Baseball”
I have yet to find a better energy burning activity for my toddler than toddler baseball! It is as simple to set up as it looks… sting, tape, balloon and a “bat”. We often for a pool noodle but a paper towel roll or stick would do just fine!

Start teaching the basics and give your toddler a head start when entering PreK. Learn colors, shapes, pre-reading skills and other important subjects your child is ready to master at 2Yrs Old.
This binder covers:
- Pre-Math ConceptsĀ
- Pre-Rading Skills
- Literacy Skills
IS THIS REALLY FOR TWO YEAR OLDs?
I purchased many curriculum and programs online that claimed to teach subjects to toddlers only to work through the lessons and realize the subjects and level of activities where too advanced for a two-year-old.
Those approaches came fromĀ kindergarten teachers making little toddlers mini-kinder gardeners. WE DON’T WANT THAT!
Teaching a child academic skills they are not ready for actually harms development in the long term.
With a lot of money wasted and frustration Ā I took it upon myself to ask, research, get certified in play and test the concepts that two-year-olds can grasp, learn and master.
I worked with Play-Based preschool owners and those exeperts in the field to understand the concepts a 2 yr can work through out before their third birthday.
I tested every idea with hundreds of parents and the result was THIS booklet series.
Help Develop Your Child and Foster a Love To Learn
Keep it simple ā Keep it fun.
This folder is a great first step if you want to start teaching the concepts needed to get ready to start pre-K. It is an easy way to teach these concepts at home without messy set ups, expensive materials and boring worksheets.Ā
It has the very basics, such as learning how to count, learning colors, opposites, shapes,, increase vocabulary and more…
Unlike all other toddler learning folders that put it all together and are too advance (usually aimed for 3-5-year-old toddlers and are too advance ) this is the ideal busy book to start woking on those lessons a two year old should learn.
Learning colors can be a lot of fun. Starting with primary colors and using matching games you toddler will start identifying these colors in no time!Ā
Your toddler might not be able to speak their proper name yet but he/she will sure be able to identify and point.Ā
All the activities in our busy book are FUN . Every activity has been tried, tested and approved.
Before you know it, your toddler will be handing you the folder and asking to play (just like mine does).

21 Coloring Pages For 2-Year-Olds FREE Printable
- Post last modified:
- Post category: Toddler
Maybe it’s time to introduce your toddler to the one activity that all kids learn to love at some point in their lives, coloring. In this post, you’ll find 21 fun coloring pages for 2-year-olds that you can download and print for free at home.
Coloring is great for kids, two-year-olds included. It can help your toddler develop hand strength, improve their fine motor skills, and lets your child practice holding a pen (pencils/crayons), be focused and creative.
I’m sure your child has been playing with crayons many times before, but now that he/she is a bit bigger it’s nice to let them scribble on actual coloring pages rather than always just put a blank page in front of them. Just make sure you choose coloring pages for two-year-olds, so ones that are age appropriate. Simple drawings of everyday objects, basic shapes, animals, and so on, with little details, are great. Your kiddo will definitely enjoy seeing things he’s familiar with. With time your two-year-old will be more interested in actually coloring within the lines.

Free Leap Year Printables for Kids
This free printable Leap Year Learning Packet contains information about Leap Year and Leap Day traditions, why it is necessary, and more. The 8-page booklet is very visually appealing for kids, full of fun graphics and activities to help them learn more about Leap Day while keeping them engaged.
You and your kids or students will love these no-prep Leap Day pages to learn more about traditions around the world, as well as to practice some math skills as well as other activities.
This printable packet is perfect for use before February 29th to prepare for Leap Day. You can also save all of the pages to read through and complete on Leap Day. However, there is a countdown on one part of a page to countdown from February 1st until Leap Day. That is an optional portion of the page. Don’t worry if you don’t use that throughout the month!

Age and Grade Levels for the Free Leap Year Printables Packet
The Leap Day printables are good for children in mid- to upper elementary and middle school, although they may also work for children both younger and older than that. Since this is a totally free packet, this is a great opportunity to grab the packet and pick and choose to use whatever is appropriate for your children or students.
Children younger than that age range may also enjoy and benefit from the Leap Year Printables Packet. However, they may need some assistance with some of the math-centered sections of the packet. This could be a great opportunity to talk about some of the math as a group rather than having children work on that individually.
How to Grab and Print The Leap Day Printables Set
To find the printable packet, scroll toward the bottom of this post. Just under the terms of use section, you’ll find a graphic and a text link to grab the printable. The text link will say >>>> Grab The Free Leap Year Printables Set <<<<.
The pdf file for the Leap Day Printables Set will open in a new window. Once you open it, you can either print right from there or save the freebie to your computer or device to print later. (I recommend saving and then printing after opening it on your computer or device.)
If you have any printing issues, I have some tips here that can help with a variety of issues that sometimes pop up because of different web browsers or updates.
I recommend printing this packet on regular white printer paper , as there are several pages with colored graphics on them. To save on printing costs, however, the pages will all still look great if you print the packet on white paper and in black and white instead of color.
If you plan to make a whole day out of your Leap Year learning, you could also consider printing on white cardstock and putting in a spiral binding or comb binding . This way, children can save this for later and look at it again in four years, especially because of the Leap Year Time Capsule page.
