Who is a Certified Nursing Assistant?

A certified nursing assistant in Arizona is a state-certified nurse who provides hands-on care directly to patients in various medical settings under the supervision of either a registered nurse (RN) or a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). As a certified nursing assistant, you will provide care related to patients’ daily and routine living needs, also known as activities of daily living or ADLs. You will also be responsible for monitoring the patient’s health progress and providing other medical staff with daily reports of the patient’s health changes.

What are the Duties of a Certified Nursing Assistant?

As a Arizona certified nursing assistant, you will work with patients requiring basic assistance, such as ensuring patients’ safety take care of themselves while moving around and interacting with their environment. However, you will also attend to patients with life-threatening conditions and elderly patients needing tender care at the end of life stages. Regardless of the type of patients you are attending to, you must understand their specific needs, including their medications, allergies, daily routines, behavioral patterns, and dietary restrictions. Overall, you will be required to know what your patients need to live safely and comfortably when under your care. To successfully perform these duties, CNAs must have great communication skills to help them communicate effectively with the patients and other medical staff.

As a CNA, you will be involved in the routine activities of your patients. Medical staff relies on you to notice and report any patient’s health changes that can lead to major health complications. Therefore, as part of the healthcare team, CNAs play important roles. The job of a CNA will involve the following duties:

● Help patients get in and out of beds ● Help patients with their hygiene ● Assist patients with exercises and movements ● Reposition paralyzed and immobile patients ● Record health changes of the patient ● Monitor patient’s medication, food, and water intake ● Offer compassion to patients, friends, and family

Which are some of the Certified Nursing Assistant Job Titles?

The specific job title of a CNA will slightly change depending on location in which you work and the specific job duties of your assignment. As a CNA, your job titles will include Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA), State Certified Nursing Assistant (STNA), Patient Care Assistant (PCA), Certified Nurse Aide, or Nursing Assistant. CNAs can apply for certifications in several states. In addition, using state reciprocity, CNAs can become an Interim CNA, what is known as a travel certified nurse assistant.

Your contract as a travel nurse assistant will run for 13 weeks, although you will occasionally extend the contract while caring for certain patients. Although it is not compulsory, you will work with recruiting agencies to find assignments.

Requirements and Qualifications of a Certified Travel Nurse Assistant

Although you will find many institutions offering CNA training, you must ensure that the chosen institution offers a training program that follows state requirements for your certification. After completing your training, you will sit for a certification exam with the state you wish to practice. When you work as a certified travel nurse assistant, you will enjoy numerous benefits. However, your duties are demanding and have several challenges. For example, you will be traveling to unfamiliar locations away from your family and loved ones. Suppose you are concerned about gaining relevant experience in your career. In that case, traveling to various institutions offers you a wealth of experiences that enable you to build relationships with patients, making your role fulfilling and satisfying.

The federal law requires you to complete at least twelve years of continuous education to maintain your certification. You will also need certifications other than the annual CEU, including a physical exam, tuberculosis screening, and basic life support certification. For your certificates to remain valid, you must maintain them annually. You will obtain these certifications in various institutions, including memory care, medication aide, wound care, and hospice and palliative care. If you want to pursue your career further, you can advance to becoming a registered nurse or licensed practical nurse.

Everything is so simplified. I am honestly happy I found them. I plan on doing more contracts with them in the future. From their process to submitting yourself to assignments, to the ease of compliance, and the easiest time keeping system, I would definitely recommend to everyone. Samantha is very sweet and I can see they truly care about their nurses.

Jennifer, RN

The response time from my recruiter and nurse specialist is amazing! They both have been so great to work with on my first assignment out in California!!! Chad and Samantha both are super caring and very responsive! I already extended my contract with the hospital because of the smooth process. They made the transition from Florida to California a lot loss stressful than I imagined. Would definitely recommend them both!!!

Stability Healthcare has been amazing at helping me transition into travel nursing. I talked to many recruiters when looking into travel nursing and Chad in particular stood out. He was always so kind and quick to respond. Everyone I’ve had the pleasure of speaking to from Stability has been just as kind and it truly feels like they all care about you enjoying your assignment.

My recruiter, and other staff I have had the pleasure of interacting with, are all so friendly and helpful. My recruiter is responsive, and even reached out while she was on vacation to check on me! I’ve worked with other agencies in the past, but Stability is next level when it comes to making your travel nursing experience as seamless as possible! Special shout out to Lindsay (best recruiter ever) and Tracy. Amazing people to work with.

Brittany J.

My recruiter is very responsive and personable. I have NEVER had any issues with them!! This agency even has PTO! None of my co workers with other agencies have this benefit!! Also the rates are equal or higher than most other agencies!! Everything feels more like family than business and for that I would choose stability over any other agency!! I am so happy I chose to work with them!

They are they for you via, call , text or email. And it’s very easy transition. They encourage you to ask questions and make themselves available from the moment your hiring process starts. To even checking on you on first day assignment to the following week.

Sopheare C.

My recruiter Amanda is amazing and always timely with her responses. Debbie who is my nurse experience specialist who is with me all times of the contract is truly awesome. Love how responsive she is and will answer any and all my questions. Big thanks to Jesse my compliance coordinator for making all the appointments and getting me travel ready. Can’t thank my team enough for all they do. Any question or issue I have they resolve right away. And I love that they breakdown each contract into a spread so you know exactly what your getting for the terms of the contract.

Someone was always available to answer my questions. I know my recruiter went above and beyond to get me the best pay and benefits. I have worked previously with companies that I feel was less than honest about benefits, such as PTO. I’m now sure how Stability Health treats their staff, but they are doing something right! I have yet to speak to someone that wasn’t pleasant. It’s as if they all love their job and it shows and it keeps me excited to be a part of their team. At this point, I would not consider traveling with another company. I don’t feel like a number. I don’t know how they do it! I recommend Stability Health to every traveler I meet. I tell them they would be making a huge mistake to go with any company.

I have been incredibly impressed by the professionalism, ease of communication, ability to have all requirements for onboarding fulfilled in a timely manner, and just overall outstanding service. Lindsay Hernandez is my particular recruiter and she has been a pleasure to work with, as well as all the team members at Stability. I’m looking forward to staying with them for my next assignment. I highly recommend them to my nursing friends, and anyone looking to travel as a nurse!

Thousands of Nurses Love Partnering with Trusted Nurse Staffing

I have been with Trusted Nurse Staffing for almost 2 years. My Recruiter Tim has backed me at every moment, he has been absolutely phenomenal to me. Now I am on my 2nd assignment here in AZ and I am loving it! The place and the people are extremely nice especially my co-worker at Arizona General Hospital and want to stay here as long as I can! Thank you to Trusted Nurse Staffing for the amazing opportunity!

I have been in the Phoenix area for about three years working as a travel respiratory therapist and it’s been amazing. The area is beautiful, the weather is amazing throughout of the year and the hospital I’ve been working at is great. They treat me as if I’m part of their team and not just an outsider coming in to work. My recruiter Drew has made everything so easy with my contracts. I never have to feel stressed out about any of little things that go into starting at the facility. Him and his team at Trusted take care of everything for me, making it easy to just step in and do the work. I don’t know where I’d be without him!

Trusted nurse staffing is such a great company to work for and they are so easy to work with. I love using them as my first company for travel nursing!

My recruiter did an amazing job at finding the best fit for me! An outstanding job with communication, updates and ensuring all my questions were answered!!

I have been with Trusted Staffing for about 18 months now. I have essentially been working local contracts, but the experiences have been memorable. My recruiter, is always available when I have a question or concern. Travel nursing is something all nurses should experience. I can't wait until I can do some serious traveling

Every member of this company I’ve interacted with has exceeded my expectations. My recruiter, Alex, is so commutative and goes above and beyond always. I can’t imagine switching to another company!

I have had the best experience with Trusted Nurse Staffing. My recruiter Tom is amazing. He always treats me with respect and as a friend. He is on top of everything I need. And when my Dad passed away, he helped me with time off, no problem and they even sent me a beautiful comfort box that was very helpful. Fully recommend this agency.
